money, or personal information. These scams often start with a believable message and a profile that
looks real at first glance.
A common pattern is: a fake account messages you → you’re asked to “verify” something → you’re sent a link
to a look-alike login page → your password or verification code gets captured → your account is taken over.

Red flags / warning signs
- Unexpected messages with urgency: “act now” / “final warning.”
- Requests for your password, 2FA code, or recovery code.
- Links that don’t match the platform’s official domain.
- Payment requests to “restore” or “verify” your account.
- Profiles with recent creation dates or strange follower patterns.
What to do right now
- Do not click the link. Go directly to the platform app/website.
- Change your password (use a unique, strong one).
- Turn on 2FA and save backup codes somewhere secure.
- Review “Logged in devices” and log out of unknown sessions.
- Warn friends if your account posted odd messages.
Pro tip: Real platform support will not ask for your password or one-time codes by DM.
If someone asks for codes, assume it’s a scam.
